So what is Boxing Inclusion Zone?

The Boxing Inclusion Zone is a totally new concept idea which came about through the Ultimate School Contender devised by ex-boxing champion Ollie Wilson and now linked in with Surrey Police and Runnymede Borough Council.

It has been designed as an all inclusive, non contact, box-fit club for the community and aimed at persons between 10 - 18 years of age, but also available to all ages during the evenings.

Who can use the facilities?

During school hours it will be open exclusively to the Borough's schools for those pupils within their Inclusion Units and for those who are at risk of exclusion from school. This will allow them to get on with their studies as well as taking part in non-contact box-fit sessions and exercise.

The aim is to provide a radical, challenging and positive programme for motivating young people and to increase school attendance rates. Staffing will be with 2 full time Teaching Assistants and one full time Boxercise specialist.

Students will follow a combination of boxercise and fitness activity, food and diet based learning, personal and motivational coaching and one to one support for basic subjects.

Outside of school hours the centre will be open evenings from 5-9pm.

Will it be available for all age groups?

From September The Boxing Inclusion Zone will be open to the general public on the weekday evenings and during school holidays.
